BASSES DE LES SALAMANDRES ROUTE: Basses de les Salamandres DEPARTURE: Marticella Cottage to the Mos bridge - Coma de Ransol DIFFERENCE IN ALTITUDE: 400m DIFFICULTY: Medium DURATION: 2h DESCRIPTION: This middle mountain environment is strewn with ancient sheep barns. This is one of the only places in Andorra where we can see the Pyrenean brook newt (Euproctus asper). VALL DEL RIU SHELTERS AND LAKES ROUTE: Vall del Riu Shelters and Lake DEPARTURE: Village of Ransol DIFFERENCE IN ALTITUDE: 730m DIFFICULTY: High DURATION: 4h30m DESCRIPTION: This calley is incredibly wild, forming a high mountain glacial cirque. You will also be able to see typical sheepfolds and cottages (bordes). ENCAMP VILLAGE: CAMÍ DE LA CANAL ROUTE: Camí de la Canal DEPARTURE: Path to Cortals d'Encamp (Km 3.2) DIFFERENCE IN ALTITUDE: 0m DIFFICULTY: Low DURATION: 45m to the township DESCRIPCIÓ: CORTALS D'ENCAMP, ENSAGENTS SHELTER AND LAKES ROUTE: Cortals d'Encamp, Ensagents Shelter and Lakes. DEPARTURE: Encamp (Road to Cortals d'Encamp) DIFFERENCE IN ALTITUDE: Shelter 425m Lake 547m DIFFICULTY: Medium DURATION: 1h45m DESCRIPCIÓ: Nearly all the route follows the river of Ensagents. During our trip, you will be able to enjoy the Alpine setting; the tour includes views to the crests of the Gargantillar and the cirque of the Llops. The flora and the fauna are worth seeing, as well as some coal bunkers. The small lake's morphology is a perfect breeding ground for the well-known Andorran salmon trout. We will also be able to spot the marmot and the white partridge. The views we have from above the Muga peak of Catalonia are marevellous. ORDINO VILLAGE: TRISTAINA LAKE ROUTE: Tristaina lake DEPARTURE: Arcalís (Service building of la Coma) DIFFERENCE IN ALTITUDE: 100m DIFFICULTY: Low DURATION: 30m DESCRIPTION: It is one of the most visited lakes in Andorra. A quiet and short ascent to discover a bucolic glacial lake. PIC DE LA FONT BLANCA ROUTE: Pic de la Font Blanca (White Spring Peak) DEPARTURE: Castellar bridge DIFFERENCE IN ALTITUDE: 1.050m DIFFICULTY: High DURATION: 3h30m DESCRIPTION: This is one of the five highest peaks of Andorra as well as one of the most imposing. There are many panoramic views of Andorra and some valleys of France. LES BORDES DE L'ENSEGUR ROUTE: Les Bordes de l'Ensegur DEPARTURE: Arans (bridge of Arans) DIFFERENCE IN ALTITUDE: 500m DIFFICULTY: Low DURATION: 2h DESCRIPTION: The cottages of Ensegur and its folds are a good example of the high mountain Andorran stockbreeding during the summer. Another peculiarity of the valley is the impressive north side of Casamanya. LA MASSANA VILLAGE: LA MASSANA - EL PUI ROUTE: La Massana - El Pui DEPARTURE: Path 50m from the crossing of the road up to El Pui DIFFERENCE IN ALTITUDE: 40m DIFFICULTY: Low DURATION: 45m DESCRIPTION: This route has wonderful examples of typical Andorran architecture and offers a very good view of the town of La Massana and its natural surroundings from El Pui. FORCATS LAKES ROUTES (NATURAL PARK OF LES VALLS DEL COMA PEDROSA) ROUTE: Forcats lakes routes (natural park of les valls del Coma Pedrosa) DEPARTURE: Arinsal, at the end of the paved road. DIFFERENCE IN ALTITUDE: 1.162m DIFFICULTY: High DURATION: 3h30m DESCRIPTION: During this excursion you will be able to enjoy wild and unisual high mountain landscapes, where the lakes are surrounded by stunning screes. CAMÍ DE L'ESTANY DE LES TRUITES ROUTE: Camí de l'Estany de les Truites DEPARTURE: Arinsal, at the end of the paved road. DIFFERENCE IN ALTITUDE: 680m DIFFICULTY: Medium DURATION: 3h DESCRIPTION: We can visit the Coma Pedrosa waterfall, which is very impressive in the spring. In the winter, it changes into a wonderful ice cascade. This excursion is set in a typical high mountain landscape, at the feet of Coma Pedrosa, the highest peak of Andorra. ANDORRA LA VELLAVILLAGE FONT DE L'ASTRELL ITINERARY: Font de l'Astrell DEPARTURE: The Comella Parc Estate DIFFERENCE IN ALTITUDE: 150m DIFFICULTY: Low DURATION: 1h30m DESCRIPTION: On this route, we will discover the shaded side of Andorra la Vella and one of its many fountains. This is an ideal walk for the whole family on a hot summer's days. PRAT PRIMER VIA PALOMERA ITINERARY: Prat Primer via Palomera DEPARTURE: The Comella Parc Estate (1.340m) DIFFERENCE IN ALTITUDE: 866m DIFFICULTY: Medium DURATION: From 4 to 5h DESCRIPTION: We pass through the Maians path, and find the Cuc springs. At this point we climb the scree which goes towards th Caülla hill, where we find an orientation table indicating various beautiful spots in the Principality. CAMÍ DE COSTA SEDA ITINERARY: Camí de Costa Seda DEPARTURE: At the end of the Poblador to Santa Coloma road DIFFERENCE IN ALTITUDE: 670m DIFFICULTY: Medium DURATION: 2h30m DESCRIPTION: From the start, we find wooden signs which mark the path. We can see the Margineda's zone of iron mineral extraction, a Romanic bridge, and a rock shelter. The path between birches and pines takes us towards the Costa Seda hill, a route liked by mushroom pickers. SANT JULIÀ DE LÒRIA VILLAGE CAMÍ DELS PUJOLS ITINERARY: Camí dels Pujols DEPARTURE:Margineda bridge DIFFERENCE IN ALTITUDE: 110m DIFFICULTY: Low DURATION: 20m DESCRIPTION: The path passe near the cavern of La Margineda, an epipaleolithic field (11.000 A.D.), where the first humans of this valley lived. CAMÍ DE CANÒLICH ITINERARY: Camí de Canòlich DEPARTURE: Aixovall, close to the technical vehicle inspection facilities (ITV) DIFFERENCE: 675m DIFFICULTY: Medium DURATION: 3h DESCRIPTION: This path, which goes towards the Canòlic Sanctuary, allows us specially to discover the mountain zone, where the columbine (Aquilega vulgaris), a garden flower, stands out for its beauty. The northern orientation of this route offers a good option during the summer months. CAMÍ DEL PI CREMAT ITINERARY: Camí del Pi Cremat DEPARTURE: Shooting range ofla Rabassa, last turn before arriving there DIFFERENCE IN ALTITUDE: 340m DIFFICULTY: Low DURATION: 1h DESCRIPTION: The path offers small glimpses of the village of Arcavell, situated in theAlt Urgell, and also over the great walls of Cadí. The intimacy of the wood of red pine (Pinus sylvestris) contrasts with the grandeur of theConangle plain, at the final section of the route. ESCALDES-ENGORDANY VILLAGE CAMÍ DE LES MOLLERES ITINERARY:Camí de les Molleres DEPARTURE:50m away from La Plana road crossroads going towardsEngolasters DIFFERENCE IN ALTITUDE: 80m DIFFICULTY: Low DURATION: 1h DESCRIPTION: This path is the opening gate to the Madriu valley. This is a very cool path in the summer, surrounded by lush vegetation, typical of shaded areas. From the Sassanat bridge, we can see some amazing Madriu river waterfalls. The charm of the descent is the cobbled pathway. RÀMIO ROUTE ITINERARY:Ràmio Route DEPARTURE: Circuit ofles Fonts. Final turn going up to Engolasters. DIFFERENCE IN ALTITUDE: 150m DIFFICULTY: Low DURATION: 3h30m DESCRIPTION: This section which passes through the Madriu valley slope offers a vision of the rural culture of the valley. It should be noted that the Vall del Madriu was declared a world heritage site by UNESCO for its cultural landscape. At Ràmio the FEDA canal can be seen, which channels water from the river Madriu and is used to produce hydro-electric energy. Squirrels and various species of wood birds (tits, woodpeckers, etc.) can be seen.
